Motsepe said Caf Champions would get $ 2.5 million.
The Caf President, Dr Patrice Motsepe, said the winner of the Caf Champions League match final would get $ 2.5 million.
Kaizer Chiefs will face Al Ahly in the Caf Champions League match final that will kick off on Saturday, 9 pm in Morocco.
The Confederation of African Football and Executive Committee (EXCO) met on Friday, 16 July 2021 ... on the eve of the Caf Champions League match finale in Rabat (the Capital City of Morocco). The meeting was about discussing the strategic plan of implementing the Super League in Africa.
Motsepe said football is a popular sport in Africa.
" Football is the game of the poor, particularly in Africa, those who are marginalized and unemployed, coming from rural areas, their first choice of sport is football. I was excited to hear that, SuperSport and SABC have arranged to ensure that South Africans can watch the game. In my capacity as Caf president, I want to see football throughout Africa and football in every country in Africa."
In addition, Motsepe has also wished the best of luck for Kaizer Chiefs and Al Ahly in the Caf final.
" I want to wish the best for both but to emphasize that as part of financial challenges, our clubs travel from different parts of the continent, transport costs are expensive, and it's even worse now because we don't have the spectators. The winner of the Caf Champions League match final will get $ 2.5million."
