France beat South Africa 4-3 in the 2nd match of Toyko Olympics.
France has defeated South Africa 4-3 in the second match of the Tokyo Olympics.
The South African-born striker, Kodisang, unsealed the scoreline in the 54th minute. The goal came after countless attempts, including a penalty shootout that was missed by Luther Singh.
Gignac returned to equalize for France in the 58th minute. The fight continued when Evidence Makgoba slipped the second goal from the left pole. Gignac equalized again in the 72 minutes. Both coaches puffed their chicks as the game drifted into the last 10th minute.
In the last 82 minutes, Teboho Mokoena forged another battle as he unleashed the 3rd goal from outside the box. Then France, in the final 8 minutes, threw everything to get the equalizing goal that was converted by Gignac to make his hat trick. From 87 minutes, another goal was scored by Savanier, which gave France enough goals to win the game.
The final result of 4-2 means South Africa will remain in the 4th position after losing their two games in Group A, and France will shift in the 3rd position. Next, South Africa will play their last match against Mexico on Wednesday, 28 July 2021.
