Italy has defeated Spain (4-2) in the penalty shoot-out to reach the euro finals.
The masterpiece football was 'displayed' at Wembley Stadium. The 3* Champions, Spain has dominated the game which ended 1-1 after 90 minutes.
The Italy coach, Roberto Mancini, said he knew it was going to be tough. " In terms of ball positions, Spain is the best around, and they caused us many problems. We had to dig in when we needed to. We tried to score or create opportunities when we could. It was a very open match, but of course, we had some issues because we didn't have too much ball possession. We kept trying until the end. I want to take my hate-off for Spain. They're a 'wonderful' team. " Roberto said.
The Spain coach, Luis Enrique, said it was not a said night for him. "We were pleased to win the penalty shot out in the quarter-finals, but we can't just get desperate now. I will congratulate our opponent. I had to think about the present and think about being competitive. I said to myself, now we'll go home knowing that we have competed and became one of the best teams in the tournament." Luis said.
Italy is waiting for England or Denmark, who will play another semi-final on Wednesday, 9 pm. The final match will kick off on Sunday, 11 July 2021.
